“Quality is a constant at every stage of the wine-making process”

…As soon as the grapes are harvested they are moved into our wine vaults, undergoing such diverse processes such as: reception of the vine, pond fermentation and watch. These stages are essential to defining the body and the texture of our wines.

Our cellars (Palmeras, Maipo, Pedehue, La Gloria, Linderos and Los Robles), are strategically distributed between the Rapel and Maipo valleys. They possess state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure. Owing to this and the commitment of our team, we are able to maintain a world class winemaking process, thus giving birth to our exceptional wines.

·When it comes to planting grapevines, are some valleys more suitable than others?

Sure; That’s why every vineyard requires soil and climate studies in order to be able to evaluate whether or not a certain zone is suitable to provide the elements that a particular vinestock needs.

For instance, every valley is characterized by its vinestocks. For us, Casablanca is the valley for Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, this is due to the fact that this particular valley expresses the best characteristics for these renowned vinestocks.

· What advantages are there to possessing your own plantations?

It allows us to assure the quality from the origin, it offers confidence in our work because you know the origin of your vineyards, the support structure is under your control and you don’t have to depend on a producer.

These conditions are embodied in the quality of our grapes and thus, in the quality of our wines.

· What is the basis for the quality of the wines of Viñedos Emiliana S.A?

The fact that we are able to guarantee the quality from the origin, which is achieved by possessing our own vineyards. It is from this foundation that our philosophy is born: “The quality is born in our vineyards”


· Finally Pablo: How would you define Viñedos Emiliana S.A., in just a few words?

I would say that we are specialists in vineyards; that our company is characterized by wines that faithfully express the variety that gives birth to them. Thus, if we are speaking about a Chardonnay, it is very expressive as Chardonnay and if we speak about a Sauvignon, it is very expressive as such. This quality identifies Viñedos Emiliana S.A.
