Biodynamic Agriculture

Emiliana's commitment to biodynamic practices is more than just a philosophy. The concept of biodynamic agriculture stems from the understanding that the vineyard is a living organism - one that is constantly searching for balance. This balance includes a closed nutrient cycle and disease control methods that minimize or eliminate invasive practices that might otherwise disturb the ecosystem. Biodynamic agriculture takes into account cosmic and lunar rhythms to determine if and when the application of different homeopathic and mineral compounds is appropriate. In this way, we can take full advantage of the Earth's natural energies. This science utilizes the forces of nature to produce healthy grapes from which we craft wines of extraordinary quality. G is Chile's first certified biodynamic wine.

Organic Agriculture

Coyam and Natura wines are crafted from organically grown grapes. Organic Agriculture is a land management process that seeks to produce healthier foods, as natural as possible, without the addition of chemical products and to reverse the problems generated by traditional agriculture such as soil degradation, desertification, environmental contamination, loss of genetic diversity and the presence of toxic residues in the harvests. Organic agriculture is based on two concepts - Biodiversity and the absence of agrochemicals such as pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Biodiversity consists of stimulating the development and coexistence of different species within the same physical space or habitat. This is achieved through the use of biological corridors and associated cultivations. Pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers are replaced by natural products such as those based on nitrogen, potassium and sulfur. Compost is produced from grape skins and stems and vegetable residues. Weeds are controlled naturally by introducing animals that feed on them (goats, alpacas, geese, chickens, etc.) As fertilizers, grass and leguminous plants are interspersed among the vineyards contributing beneficial nitrogen to the soil.
